California Pot Roast Recipe
CALIFORNIA POT ROAST This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Watson Estate in McKinney, Texas in 1991.

Ingredients
  • 4 pound beef pot roast trimmed of fat
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium white onion chopped
  • 2 large carrots sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup water

Directions
  1. Dredge meat well in flour, salt and pepper then brown in oil in large skillet.
  2. Place in crock pot then add remaining ingredients and cover then simmer on low 5 hours.
