Roasted Garlic Chicken Turkey Loaf
From victoriaregina 16 years agoIngredients
- 1 lb ground chicken shopping list
- 1 lb ground turkey shopping list
- 2 heads of roasted garlic peeled and smashed shopping list
- 1 onion grated on the smallest grate (this will give you a sort of solid-liquid onion) shopping list
- 1 can evaporated milk shopping list
- 1 loaf 2-3 day old Italian bread shopping list
- Kosher or sea salt shopping list
- 2 tsp. poultry seasoning or to your taste shopping list
- 1 c. finely grated carrots shopping list
- 1 cup fresh parsley chopped fine shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 325 F
- I uaually make a double recipe and freeze one loaf in a meatloaf pan. I bake it frozen without any thaw.
- I n a bowl break up the stale bread and add the can of milk
- Let it sit for about 10 minutes and mush about until all milk is absorbed.
- Add the roasted garlic to this mix and stir until garlic is well incorporated.
- Add onion salt, seasoning, parsley and carrots
- In a large bowl combine the chicken and turkey well
- (You may also use all turkey or all chicken)
- A little at a time add your ingredients from the first bowl, incorporating well after each addition (usually a cup at a time)
- Use either a meatloaf pan or a deep oval baking dish.
- With the second, I make a mounded oval. You can also use mini loaf pans. They are fun for children.
- Butter your pan and add your loaf.
- Cook about an hour. Remove from oven and sprinkle with parsley flakes and paprika in the pattern of your choice.
- I serve with a cauliflour dish I will post.
- Let's eat!
