How to make it

  • Directions:
  • In a large mixing bowl combine 3/4 cup flour,salt, pepper and garlic salt.
  • Using a meat mallet, pound round steak until tender.
  • Dredge steak in seasoned flour and continue to pound the grain.
  • In a 14 oz cast iron skillet heat oil over med. high heat, sate steak until golden brown on both sides.
  • Add onion, celery, bell pepper and garlic.
  • Saute until veggies are wilted; approximately 3-5 minutes
  • Add tomatoes, broth and soy sauce
  • Bring to a rolling boil
  • Reduce heat to simmer and cover
  • Cook for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender
  • In a measuring cup combine water and 2 tblsp flour until flour is thoroughly disolved
  • Pour into the meat sauce until thickened
  • Adjust seasoning as necessary
