How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325 then spray a square baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In small bowl whisk flour, cocoa, espresso powder, baking soda and salt then set aside.
  • In a heavy medium saucepan combine chocolate and oil then cook over low stirring constantly.
  • When chocolate is completely melted remove from heat.
  • Stir in applesauce, sugars, corn syrup and vanilla then beat until smooth about 1 minute.
  • Add egg whites and continue beating until sugar is dissolved about 1 minute more.
  • Add reserved flour mixture and stir gently until smooth about 2 minutes.
  • Spread evenly in prepared pan and bake 20 minutes.
  • Cool completely on a rack before cutting.

    Are you kidding me right now? Is this is a prank or did you really just make that enormous of a type-o and neglect to fix it? I just wasted Dutch Cocoa and a bar of dark chocolate...that sucks. I'm a very seasoned baker and thought this recipe looked very dry...3 cups of flour, only 1/4cup liquid? Should have known right off the bat this was a bull crap recipe. It was literally ALL powder and not a stick of glazy moistness. Wow. Had to add 1 cup of water and some oil to even get it going, which quickly developed the gluten and turned into a dough ball, then had to throw it out. Thanks for wasting my time- why don't you figure out how to delete this post before you mess up someone else's kitchen.
