Ingredients
  • Roasted clams are served at Clam Bakes.
  • Clams are washed in sea-water, placed on stones which have been previously heated by burning wood on them, ashes removed, and stones sprinkled with thin layer of seaweed.
  • Clams are piled on stones, covered with seaweed, and a piece of canvas thrown over them to retain the steam.

Directions
  1. roast until the clams are open

This is what we are having this weekend for my girlfriends birthday except I am doing outside on a propane burner. Clams, mussels, prawns and crabs along with corn and red potatoes. Yum, can't wait!
I have had clams done your way at a beach party in California. It was some of the best clams I have ever had.
