How to make it

  • In a saucepan,add your fruit and water.
  • If using 4 cups of chopped fruit,then add 1/2 cup water or fruit juice.
  • Cover and simmer mixture for about 20 minutes or until cooked.
  • Uncover,stir and mash with potato masher.
  • If your cooking 4 cups of fruit,then add sugar,1 Tablespoon at a time,depending on how sweet the fruit is before,will depend on how much sugar you will add.
  • Add the lemon juice 1 teaspoon at a time to spark the flavor of the fruit.
  • May add a pinch or two of spices(I don't ,unless I am making all apple or peach,then I add pie spice.)
  • Contiue to cook until the sugar is dissolved and fruit is thickened ,about 15 to 20 minutes,on simmer.
  • Place fruit puree in blender and blend until smooth,adust it to your taste with more sugar,lemon juice or spices.
  • Line a jelly roll pan with heavy duty plastic wrap.
  • Pour fruit puree into pan to a thickness of about 1/8 "to 1/4".
  • Place in a 140 degree oven ,for about 8 to 12 hours,or until the fruit is dried out,no longer sticky,and smooth on the surface.
  • Peel up, roll up, in it's plastic wrap, and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
