MARINATED PORK LOIN CHOPS WITH APPLE CHILE CHUTNEY This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Metzger Estate in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1994.

Ingredients
  • 8 pork loin chops
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Chutney
  • 4 cups granny smith apples peeled cored and diced
  • 2 red or green chilies diced
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh marjoram

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients except pork chops.
  2. Place pork chops in a shallow baking dish and pour marinade over chops.
  3. Refrigerate for several hours before cooking then bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  4. Serve chops with chutney over top.
  5. Combine all chutney ingredients in saucepan and cook over medium until apples are tender.
