Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Recipe

	Mrn / All my dishes 3 months, 4 weeks ago my mom & i have used this recipe for decades. you can probably count on one hand the number of times we've made actual drop chocolate chip cookies. these taste identical, maybe richer, & you make the whole batch all at once. easily doubles if needed.... Ingredients

1/3 c Shortening

1/3 c Butter

1/2 c White Sugar

1/2 c Brown Sugar

1 Egg

1 Tbls Vanilla

1 1/2 c Flour

1/2 tsp Soda

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 c chopped Nuts (opt.)

1 c Chocolate Chips (My measurement usually ends up being closer to 1 1/2 cups. Also can mix in butterscotch or peanut butter chips.)

Directions

Heat oven to 375. Will need UNGREASED 9 x 13 pan.

Cream shortening, butter, & sugars.

Add egg & vanilla

Add dry ingredients.

Stir in nuts & chips.

Spread batter in pan.

Note: Batter will spread relatively thin, so watch for little holes when evening batter.

Bake 25 - 30 minutes or till tests done.
