Baby Shrimp Over English Muffins Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked baby shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 6 English muffin, split and buttered
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup buttered bread crumbs
  • White Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. To make sauce melt butter in a small saucepan then stir in flour until well blended and smooth.
  2. Gradually add milk and stir until thick and bubbling then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Combine shrimp, Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce.
  4. Add enough white sauce to shrimp mixture to make a stiff mixture.
  5. Toast buttered muffin halves under broiler until lightly browned.
  6. Cover muffin halves with shrimp mixture then sprinkle with cheese and buttered breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes then serve immediately.
