Apple Pie Compote

this recipe has the flavor of apple pie without all the calories of the pie crust... the recipe is form the Highland Manor Bed & Breakfast Highland, New York
Ingredients
- 7 Red and or golden delicious apples shopping list
- 3 macintosh apples shopping list
- 1 cup raisins (any type) shopping list
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup of sugar (depends on your taste) shopping list
- 2 tbs lemon juice shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp nutmeg shopping list
- 1 tsp allspice shopping list
- 10 whole cloves shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients in 4-6 qt pot. Simmer until apples are soft, stirring occasionally, approx. 40 minutes.
- Remove cloves.
- Serve in champagne or ice cream sundae
- glasses
- nice with either ice cream or whipped cream or both
