How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 2-8 inch cake pans.
  • In a double boiler combine, chocolate and butter until melted, stirring frequently.
  • Remove chocolate and butter mix from heat . Stir in coconut rum, coffee, and sugar until sugar dissolves.
  • Transfer to a lg. bowl, beat in eggs. Then stir in flour, cloves, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder.
  • Add buttermilk and vanilla and mix well. Transfer to pans.
  • Bake until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean or about 30 min. Remove and cool about 2 hrs. Serve with cinnamon whipped cream or butter cream icing.
