RUTABAGA CASSEROLE AU GRATIN

- 1 large rutabaga peeled and chopped shopping list
- ¼ cup. butter or margarine, divided shopping list
- 1 small onion, finely chopped shopping list
- ½ cup. milk shopping list
- 1 ½ cup. grated white Cheddar, divided shopping list
- ½ tsp. salt shopping list
- ½ tsp. garlic powder shopping list
- 1/3 cup. Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs shopping list
How to make it
- Bring rutabaga to boil; cook 20 minutes or until tender.
- Drain well; transfer to large bowl, and mash.
- Melt 1 tbsp. butter; add onion,
- sauté 3 minutes or until tender.
- Add onion, milk and 1 cup. cheese, salt, garlic and remaining ingredients to rutabagas.
- Spoon into lightly greased 9 X 13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle evenly with breadcrumbs and remaining ½ cup cheese. Bake 350 F. for 30 minutes or until lightly browned
