Delicious Italian Tomato Sauce Recipe
I your trying to impress some of you italian friends of family don't go buying that store bought italian flavor sauce. Using this recipe will give you the athinic taste. You will foll everyone.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c of grated cheese
  • 2 (28 oz) cans of tomato puree
  • 1/4 c of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 (28 oz) can of peeled plum tomatoes
  • 2 tbspn of sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 tspn of fresh ground pepper
  • 1 small diced onion
  • 1 tspn of kosher salt
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 tspn of basil

Directions
  1. In one of your large stew pots add your olive oil and saute the garlic and onion.
  2. Wash your hands and grab one of your large bowls and start squashing the plum tomatoes.
  3. If you wanted to add your meatballs now is the time, while your at it finish adding the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Allow this to simmer for about 3 hours.

Hehe... sounds good! Almost the same as our Sunday Ragu, only that ours starts off with frying some soffritto (onion, celery and carrot finely diced) before adding a little minced beef, red wine and the tomato... the longer the puree cooks the better it gets ;) that's the true secret, mom also cooks hers for 3 hours.
I'll try this one, it sounds yummy!!
