Winter Squash And Sausage Pilau

- 1 lb. mild or hot sausage shopping list
- 2 medium onions chopt shopping list
- 1 C washed rice shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 acorn or butternut squash shopping list
How to make it
- In a large casserole with a cover
- Fry 1 lb. mild or hot sausage, break up into walnut-sized lumps as cooking, take up onto a plate.
- Saute 2 medium onions chopt in grease
- add 1 C washed rice and saute 1 minute
- Add 1 C water and 1 tsp salt to onions and rice, bring to a boil
- Add the sausage
- Clean 1 acorn or butternut squash
- Cut squash into eight pieces, arrange around top of rice.
- Cover and bake 90 min at 350°F.
- Add some brussels sprouts 15 minutes before done or serve with green peas.
