How to make it

  • Cut 1 T. of the butter into small bits and reserve.
  • Preheat the broiler.
  • Steam the asparagus just until done. Melt the remaining butter and mix with the lemon juice and peel. Salt to taste, and pour over the asparagus in a baking dish. Cover with bread crumbs and butter bits and broil until crumbs are nice and brown.
