We just got an almost 8 month old pup, he must be about 75lbs. Yep, he's a pup and still growing. Life is getting very interesting.

We lost our old lab in July, she was 14 1/2 years old and we miss her a lot.

Is your new puppy a lab too? I am sorry to hear of your loss, it is so hard to lose a furry family member.

Our cockatiel past away last week and we miss her a lot- she was very tame, smart and really got along well w/all our other pets accept one cat Coco ie: Lucifer...he has no self control.

It was amazing as J.D. would land on the couch right next to a greyhound lying on same couch and they did not care. I was told when I adopted my greyhounds that they could not insure the greys would not kill our bird..it is all in introducing and working w/your furry peeples I think and maintaining yourself as the head of the "pack".

I understand your loss as I had a sheltie who was my shadow and he died at 14 years. It is hard. Hugs. Sav

The new dog it a yellow lab and golden retriever mix. He was bred that way on purpose. He is huge, we just call him Big Dog most of the time. We also have a little guy, he is 2 1/2 years old, he is sheperd and chow mix (looks like a minature sheperd). He is small, but smart as a whip and sweet as can be and very protective. Needless to say, I have to vacuum all the time.
    Thanks for asking Sav

I think I can picture your puppy! Friends of ours were given a girl pup w/same lab/g. retreiver mix--she is beautiful but what a handful. She is about 9 months now and was just too much for this couple to handle as they are older and retired so their son and wife have taken her. She has huge paws and a huge head on her.

She needs someone to spend a lot of time w/her and she will be a wonderful dog. The son has a elderly dog who has gotten alot of good out of this lab/retreiver joining the family!

I have a Sheltie that is losing hair at the moment and I am threatening to have him shaved. My daughters think that is just terrible--I can relate to constant vacuming.

What a wonderful group to be in!! Talking about my fur babies is a favorite past time of mine. i am mom to:

Miss Abby: My rescue dog, terrier mix, much like a large Jack Russel and twice as energetic. Abby follows Me wherever I go.

Scooter: My rescue kitty and my Avatar Picture from last Christmas. He is very active and rules the house or so he thinks!! Just as playful now as a new kitten and very funny.

I'm looking for a special recipe. The fancy dog store near my daughters work has these wonderful turkey bacon treats. I will scour the web to find this one as they don't need to be refrigerated!!

Greetings to all of you fur baby lovers, DonnaTMann~

I just found this site today and was excited to find this pet group to belong to. We have "several" animals...
Buddy Pup is a 4 yr old austrilian shephard...very loving, sweet dog that loves to ride in the back of my teenage son's truck. He's a real farm dog.
Big Boy and Sweet Thang, brother and sister black labs that are about 3 years old
My "baby" Buster who is a 4 month old shih-tzu that was abandoned at an apartment complex... I love him to pieces...
Tigger, our 13 year old tomcat
Bill, my son's 15 year old mule
Weaser, my son's 6 year old paint gelding
Cassie, my 4 year old mare
"pig" my son's FFA show pig, who we haven't named yet...got him about 2 weeks ago
    We love animals...
    I look forward to sharing...

I've been a member of this group a while, but never did an intro. I have two dogs (which you probably figured out by my photo!). Maggie, aka, Her Royal Highness, Queen of Pretty Much Everything, is my golden retriever. We got her from a 'breeder" when she was supposedly 10.5 weeks old. Abby 'da Labby aka The Abbigator, was a rescue at 9.5 months old. She came to us afraid of little girls, flyswatters and yardsticks. They both celebrated their 10th birthday in September and are the head tasters for anything they can convince me to give them!

Hi should be sleeping instead reading everyone’s recipes and messages. I have 4 cats and 1 dog-- More animals then I have ever taken care of. From oldest to newest-- Sammie male, black and in the process of passing over this summer. If it appears he is too much pain I will have to help him along but I am praying he goes easily and simply before the cold weather arrives. Sammie came from my niece in Niagara Falls 12 years ago when he was a couple of years old. He has been my main cat for the last ten years and I will miss him so much. Bubba healthy strong black and white, large--fat I think he must eat all Sammie's food. He came from my sister in Nashville Tenn. 13 years ago I am in Richmond Hill Ontario Canada. Mustang all white male very sweet He has had MORE HOMES THAN i CARE TO COUNT but the last was my sister in Newmarket just a month ago. and then there is Baby Silky from my roommate, female 3 MT old all black, A few days after she brought the kitten home she said the kitten was too much trouble so I inherited another cat. The roommate left the kitty stayed. I guess that's life. She is a lot of fun, not the housemate! Then there is sandy a Husky/golden female 3 yr 2 mt now. I have been ‘babysitting’ her for my wandering son for the last 2 yr 3 mt. He travels for his work. I wasn’t a dog person till I meant her. Wow she is so smart and a mind of her own. Just love her and them all. I also care for the neighbors golden Harley and another neighbors husky Tucker during the day. So I guess you might think I am busy with the animals. Mostly the hair is overwhelming but otherwise I have a very enjoyable life.
Thank you for so many nice people posting interesting thoughts and recipes.
