handwashing

A leading cause of foodborne illness is improper handwashing. Nororvirus or Stomach Flu is on the increase and its because we aren't washing our hands properly. Especially after using the restroom. It's fecal to oral route...Wash your hands by applying soap and water and scrubbing for 10 to 14 seconds then rinsing for another six to 10 seconds and dry with a paper towel, not a cloth towel, which would recontaminate the hands. Thenb don't shake hands, don't touch any skin or hair, unless you want to serve up some Staph to your guests. IF you are outside and don't have a handwashing sink, take your own. Put some arm water in some gatorade coolers (like teh ones at football games) and you've got your own water source. Wash'em.

I think of this every time I see a worker in a restaurant who looks "unkept".. I look at them, then my food.
Great Post .. Will tell them to use the coolers at the fundraiser we are getting ready to do.. Thanks
