I am looking for a recipe!

My husband comes from a strong German background and remembers having a dish he desperately wants to have again! I do not have the exact spelling, but is phoneticaly sounds like (flesh-keeth-la).
I cannot find it without the exact spelling. It is a seasoned meat patty, wrapped in a dough pocket and deep fried. Thanx!!!

Hi damiadedannon- I did a little research on the recipe you are looking for and talked to my German dad. The closest name I could come up with is the above mentioned Fleischkuchen which litteral means meat cake. I also found something called Bierocks which sound like what you are looking for. I would type Bierocks into google and see what pops up. I think this might do the trick. I found a recipe for one made with a yeast dough , ground meat and cabbage, and that sounded good. I've found that each area in Germany calls their food slightly different names even if it is basically the same dish. I'm hoping this is the case with fleischkuchen/bierocks.

    good recipe hunting and eating
