Cooking with Wine

    Several rules of thumb...

Never use that stuff located near the vinegar labeled cooking wine or sherry.

Don't use a wine that you wouldn't drink. If it doesn't taste good while you are drinking it, it won't produce flavorful foods.

That being said don't buy the most expensive wine you can find. There are many reasonably priced nice tasting wines you can cook with.

The person at the wine store is a good source of information. Tell him what you are using the wine for and he will steer you in the right direction.
