This is fantastic! The aroma alone was intoxicating while it baked. It very much reminds me of an apple fritter with the sticky glaze.
The only thing I'd do differently next time is, if I use the same sweet apple variety (gala), is to not bother with coating them in the white sugar. There is already a brown sugar/cinnamon topping and glaze, so it's plenty sweet. Very much a dessert bread. And oh-so decadent and delicious!
I made it in a 8.5x4.5" glass loaf pan and it took exactly an hour to cook in my oven. I think the addition of walnuts or pecans would be excellent too :)

Janet, Pete rarely eats my baking as he's not much of a dessert person either, but he had two pieces tonight!! I think the aroma of apples and cinnamon baking got to him ;)

That's strange Diz! I've never had that happen before...very strange.. It even says 10 comments, but only 9 show up...weird. Hopefully it was just a glitch of some kind!

I had this for breakfast this morning, and it's even better. I love the little apple bites in the center of the bread. And it doesn't taste as sweet as it did yesterday.
