    Apple Oatmeal
    by Susana

This was a perfect hearty breakfast!! It kept me full all day yesterday while I ran errands.
It made 3 serving's, one for me, a big one for my teenage son and one leftover for my breakfast today! :)
I used large flaked, old fashioned oats which took ten minutes to cook instead of 5 minutes like the recipe instructed. The longer cook time was better as the apples had more time to soften. I also used muscovado sugar (a dark brown sugar) which is why my oatmeal looks so dark--and I used slightly less sugar than what the recipe called for.
I like the addition of vanilla, and the cinnamon amount is perfect.
I topped it with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt that I lightly sweetened with maple syrup and a little extra cinnamon.
My son loved it too, and he's never liked oatmeal, so I will definitely make it again and again! :)

Nice one Shona! Great photo too. I like healthy and this fits the category. Saved and will have to try it myself.

That looks so good, Cosmicmother! I like flavored oatmeal. Especially, apple! I, too, prefer old fashioned oats over the quick cook oats.

    Thanks ladies! :)
I'm glad my son likes oatmeal now, he's 17 and I can barely fill him with anything! But this works! ;)
