This isn’t the most attractive dish, but it sure is good! Bacon always seems to make everything better. :) I love how this does not use cream of mushroom soup. The only problem with the recipe is that it doesn’t give clear ingredient amounts. Since I’m cooking for two, I just winged it. My recipe went something like 2 pork chops, a lot of mushrooms, a couple slices of bacon, a handful of chopped green onions, and enough sour cream to completely cover the pork chops. The total bake time on this is 1 hr. I just cannot bring myself to bake ½” thick pork chops an hour in a 375 degree oven. I did something different. I browned the chops in a skillet first and then transferred to a baking dish. Poured the sauce over the top. Covered and baked 30 minutes at 350. Then uncovered and baked another 10.

The ingredient amounts are vague Diz. Glad you got it worked out though! I like your method of cooking better than the recipes. I bet Browning the chops in a pan first added a nice flavor and I agree, 1 hour would probably be too long!

Hi, Mommyluvs2cook! I always like to brown meat, especially pork and chicken, before baking because I like the meat to have some color. In baked recipes like this, it would never get golden brown on its own.

Looks attractive to me DIZ! actually delicious! and yes, bacon does make everything better, so does a sour cream gravy. Good idea to pan sear the chops first and adjust the bake time.
