*Made for the 2018 October "Oktoberfest" theme Recipe Challenge*

So my Aunt has always made beer bread for every family get together as far back as I can remember. Have always loved it, but the way she made it was with a lot of sugar..it wasn't quite as sweet as a dessert bread, but still pretty sugary. I was glad to come across this bread that had a small amount of sugar, and was more savory. It turned out delicious! I made my own self rising flour (just flour with baking powder and salt added) and used an Oktoberfest beer which I thought was fitting :) Everyone devoured it with dinner, I have only a few slices worth left, so it went over very well :-D The inside was soft and moist and the outside firm and crunchy. Next time I'll make 2 loaves!

Great photos, Mommyluvs2cook! Nice find! I've never made it from scratch. Have always used a mix and served as an accompaniment to party dips. Interesting your Aunt's recipe was sweet. I'll bet it was still good.

Awesome photos Michelle! Nice that it doesn't use a ton of sugar and I bet it would be great with a pumpkin flavored beer too. I like these type of breads with stews and soups. Looks real easy to make too.

That looks great Michelle! The texture looks just like a soda bread, is that how it tastes or is the beer a dominate flavor?
You'll have to take over from your Aunt and start bringing the Beer bread to all the family functions! Lol ;)

Thanks everyone! It's funny, you could smell the beer pretty strongly on the baked bread, but couldn't really taste it. It was in there though! I'm personally glad it didn't have a strong beer flavor, I don't think it would have gone over as well lol :)
