Chicago Style Sausage And Peppers

    Recipe by:
    Dandelion.
I made this a few days ago and it was so very good. I used Mild Italian Sausage and followed the recipe with a couple of tweeks. I did not poke the sausage, and I kept the sausage warm while the other vegetables were cooking. I used chicken broth in place of the beer, and it tasted great.
I made this on top of the stove and it worked out very nicely. I chose to eat as is for me, my husband had his in a bun. Next time I make this I think I will make either white or brown rice to go under the sausage and peppers.

That looks and sounds delicious Manella! I'd use chicken broth too instead of beer, and I like the idea of serving it over rice instead of a bun. :)
Whenever I see recipes or people on cooking shows say to prick the sausage, it makes me so mad!! That takes all the flavour out of them, not to mention makes them dry and mealy! Thankfully you knew that and didn't poke the sausages! :D

Love your photo Manella! I like the addition of the tomatoes, which you don't see often in a sausage and peppers recipe. I will definitely not poke my sausage when making this, bookmarked :P
