*Made for the February 2019 Chocolate Recipe Challenge*

My Choco-holic family loved this!! Mine turned out super creamy and smooth :)

I'm wondering if the cream cheese was supposed to be room temp. or cold? I went and read reviews and nobody mentioned what they used and it doesn't state in the recipe. I used cold and it made beating the cream cheese and cocoa a pain in the butt, and it turned out like very coarse chunks and not nice and fluffy like the recipe states. So I ended up nuking it for a few seconds and that did the trick! Stirred it and it became smooth, so I will be using room temp. cream cheese next time :) The crust was a little crumbly, especially on the sides, but the bottom held together pretty well.

Ending result was a hit, will definitely make again :)

Nice photos, Mommyluvs2cook! It looks so good! Did you use raw cocoa? I always let cream cheese get soft just like I would with butter. Much easier to work with.

Thanks DIZ :). I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be cold since it was a refrigerated pie? Or because the whipped cream was folded in so it doesn't fall flat? Lol, I don't know much of the scientific things that goes into making desserts lol, so I need specific instructions I guess :P

Ooooooo, this looks incredibly delicious Michelle! and a wonderful photo. Glad you were able to figure out to warm up the cream cheese so it would blend better.

That looks wonderful Michelle!! It looks so light and delicious! :D
That mousse mixture is just like the stabilized whipped cream frosting I use for cakes, but with cocoa powder. I would never have thought to put it in a pie, how cool!! You can see my vanilla version for frosting here: Vanilla Short Cake W Strawberries And Cream ----quite similar, no? I might have to try a vanilla version with strawberries in the summer and forgo the cake!...lol...;)

Thanks Ladies! Omg Shona, the whipped cream cream is so close to your recipe!! It would totally work as a pie with strawberries without the cake :)
