Crockpot Corn Chowder

    I made:Crock Pot Corn Chowder

I was on the fence about this recipe- it seemed to be frozen corn in broth!! I think I cooked this too long- the corn and potatoes were slightly mushy. It looked so unappealing when finished- mushy corn in chicken broth!! (not chowder) So i looked at some recipes on the net and added cream to make it a chowder and seasoned it up a bit- using some thyme, pepper etc. Topped with bacon - and it actually was pretty good!! I am going to try again- cooking for a shorter time and use red skin potatoes. My family did eat the whole thing! I couldn't bring myself to put the worchestershire sauce in it !! :(

That's great you rescued it with some cream :D
I think it needed to be partly pureed to get that thickness and creaminess, maybe that part was left out unintentionally? But at least you were able to salvage it. I'm on the fence too about the Worcestershire!

Glad you were able to save the recipe and your family liked it. I can't imagine Worcestershire sauce with corn. Seems like an odd combination to me.

Great save!! Perhaps the poster thought that the potatoes would break down and make it thick.

Good job at making this into something that you and your family ended up loving! I can definitely see how this recipe would need a little love :)
