Green Tandoori Shrimp

    I know, I know....Green was last month. :) I'm pokey, what can I say?

I had meant to make an Olive Soup for the Green Challenge but that didn't happen. Had also been looking at this recipe of Keni's and I did get it done this evening. :)

    Green Tandoori Shrimp

I scaled the recipe down so it served 2. It called for uncooked shrimp but I only had a partial bag and then some cooked ones so the smaller ones you see are previously cooked. It is better with the uncooked ones for sure.

The canned chilies mixed with the garlic and Indian spices went well. I've never heard of any other type of Masala except for Garam and that's what I had on hand so that's what I used. I thought it tasted great.

I didn't add the sesame seeds as I didn't think it would add a lot plus I think of sesame seeds being more Asian than Indian.

The shrimp only marinate for 20 minutes and they're jam packed full of flavour. I just broiled them in the oven.

Both hubby and I give the recipe two thumbs up. They would be a lot of fun on an Appy plate with some samosas and onion bhaji or even pappadums. Thanks Keni! :) It was yummy!

Great photo Janet! I've heard of different masala recipe's but the only spice blend I've seen in stores is Garam. That's great it still tasted good with the garam masala! The sesame seeds do seem odd with the Indian flavors. Though, I have noticed a lot of Keni's recipes seem like ethnic fusions of some sort or other. ;)
