Indonesian Style Bbq Pork Tenderloin by Sosousme

I searched for recipes using Pork Tenderloin, and next to the results you can narrow the search down in "Tag Filters" and "Healthy" was one of the options. This was one of four recipes that showed up as 'healthy' because the recipe submitter added 'lean' and 'low cal' in the tags. It does appear to be low cal, only 159 calories per serving, but it doesn't say how big the servings are where the health info is. For one pound of tenderloin it says it feeds four people though.
The marinade is awesome! It seeps into every inch of the meat, and it was so tender and juicy. I used all the marinade ingredients except for the "optional" chili-garlic sauce. But I wish I did use sriracha as it could really benefit from a little heat. The chili flakes were not enough, and I'm not one to eat very spicy food. So, I'll make sure to add that next time. The lime juice gives it more of a Caribbean vibe to me, and I think orange or pineapple juice would also be great in this!
I did use the oven instead of the grill though. The recipe says to place on the grill, cover and cook for 30 minutes.Turning occasionally and basting with the leftover marinade. I baked it at 400F for 30 minutes, until the internal temp was 150F. The marinade is really thin, so I don't see how one could baste with it. For the grill, perhaps, just to keep it moist. Or you could boil the marinade down to thicken it first, but there is no sugar in the marinade so it might not thicken up that much? I just used hoisin sauce and glazed the top of it in the last 5 minutes of cooking instead.
I served this along side some fried rice with vegetables, and it was a fantastic dinner. I like that this recipe doesn't have any added sugar or soya sauce, making it so much healthier yet still very delicious! I highly recommend trying it. I will definitely make it again and use the grill in the warmer months.

    Thanks Michelle!
I'm famous for over cooking pork, lol, so it surprised me when I got it out of the oven in time! It makes such a difference when you can eat it between 145-155F :)
