Klops Mit Milchsosse Meatballs With Milk Gravy byAuntyBea

Delicious!! This turned out so much better then I expected! I thought I would have to add more flavour to the gravy, but I didn't. I browned the meatballs first, then removed them to make the gravy. Then finished cooking the meatballs in the gravy for about 15 minutes in a covered pan. So that probably helped add flavor to the gravy.
I made 16 meatballs, about the size of golf balls, instead of the 6 patty's called for (although if I wasn't in the mood to roll meatballs I might make the patty's! ;) It tastes just like Swedish meatballs but more "beefy" and savory.
I served it over garlic-chive mashed potatoes and a side of peas. I can't wait to make this again! :)

I was thinking this was similar to Swedish Meatballs and then I saw your comment that they are! I am definitely bookmarking this one, sounds like a perfect Fall dinner, and your picture makes me want a plate right now :)

    Thanks everyone! :)

They are delicious and my daughter said she'd rather have meatballs with gravy over tomato sauce every time! ;) She loves the Ikea Swedish meatballs and said that these are better, and I agree!
I like that the gravy is left plain so you can add whatever you like to it--mushrooms, onions, capers, lemon, dill etc...But we enjoyed it as-is! :D
    A definite Fall comfort food!!
