Recipe: Peppered Steaks In A Brandy Flavoured Sauce
    By: Don In Spain
    Date: 9/2/2018

Another fabulous recipe from Don. I went the extra mile to make sure I used fresh, quality ingredients: thick cut, Prime Grade Top Sirloin steak, fresh peppercorns from a local spice shop, and a fine brandy (which I know nothing about...lol!). The one thing I like about Don’s recipes is the fact that he gives clear and precise instructions. My steak turned out perfect. It’s the best steak I’ve cooked yet. The only thing I did wrong was use my pepper grinder to grind the peppercorns. It ground them into a fine powder and made for one "fiery" steak! DH loved it! He likes a lot of pepper! I think a coarse grind would have been better. I can’t say enough about the brandy sauce. Both of us dipped each bite of steak into the sauce. Thank you, Don! You have some amazing recipe!

What a lovely photo DIZ3 and great review. I already had the recipe bookmarked but will have to try and remember to short list it as it sounds verra nice. I even have the mixed coloured peppercorns. My husband bought me some at Christmas time and I haven`t even opened the pkg.! Nice job on curling the green onions!

Your picture is wonderful DIZ!! I absolutely love Don's tip on getting the curly green onions, I am going to put that to use in many dishes that need a pop of color for a picture :) I have never bought or even had brandy before. This recipe looks worth giving it a try though!

Thank you, Chuckieb! You won't be disappointed. I didn't have to do anything with the onions. They curled themselves!

Thank you, Mommyluvs2cook! Don really knows his way around the kitchen and has some amazing tips. I'm not a brandy connoisseur either. I had to do some reading up on it and then asked to the store owner. She recommended Courvoisier VS. It smells fruity and has a hint of sweetness to it. I purchased the smallest pocket sized bottle I could get. It's really good! So good that hubby sipped on a glass after dinner.

Thank you, LindaLMT! I forgot to mention that I let the steaks sit on the counter about 1.5 hrs before cooking.
