Spaghetti With Tomato And Basil Sauce

I love making my own spaghetti sauce and decided to give this one a try! I used a 28 oz. can of whole plum tomatoes plus a 12.5 oz. can of diced tomatoes. Since I used the whole tomatoes I cooked this a little longer just to break them down well. I had a urge to add more to this sauce at the beginning, like a good shake of Italian seasoning or something, but in the end, it was awesome and had fantastic flavor! My family has to have their meat so of course I made meatballs and added them in the last few minutes of cooking. Delicious!

Beautiful photo! That looks so good! Spaghetti sauce is a touchy subject. Once you have a recipe you love, it's hard to try something new. Much less like it. Glad it worked out. Looks tasty with all of the fresh herbs. Thank you for the tip about using a Parmesan rind. I never would have dared try something like that.

Thank DIZ! The parmesan rind is a great trick I use in most Italian soups/pasta sauces. Learned it from Giada off Food Network lol :) :) It really does add great flavor!

Looks delicious Michelle, lovely photo!! My mom always used the parmesan rind also.
I used it for many years myself until i got this dairy allergy:(((( If they ever come up with a lactose free one i'll be first in line:)

You would think they would have a lactose free parmesan by now! I know they have the vegan parm. out there but I think it's more of a powdery version that taste similar? Thank you Manella :) :)
