Chicken Breasts With Barbeque Blueberry Sauce

This has the Mr. SuchAFuss seal of approval as well as mine. I caution folks not to exceed the recommended 1/8th tsp cayenne pepper. I thought I held true to that but my hand may have shaked. I didn't ruin the sauce but came close. I will serve this again and enjoyed it very much. Picture posted of the last stage before serving. Thanks ChefMeow. Another wonderful recipe.

That looks and sounds so interesting!

I wonder how that would work if you barbecued the chicken breast? Do you think the smokiness would be too strange with the blueberries?

The chicken breasts are sooo thin that they would just dry out. I think if you wanted to make a blueberry BBQ sauce to work on the grill I would puree the sauce. It would probably blacken quite a bit and it is already a dark sauce. I bet it would taste good though :) I'd like to try it on a nice thick piece of grilled halibut and basted with this just at the end turning.

Made this using blackberries. An interesting bbq sauce. I could taste the rawness of the onion coming through and for a second there thought I was chewing on liver and onions. : )
Made it with some nuked then fried red potatoes. Sauce really hides any flavor the chicken has. So if you didn't know you were eating a chicken breast fillet you would have to do a close inspection. Breast was nice and moist. Well seasoned. Doubled the recipe without trouble.
Yes Otter, a blender stick would take out all the lumps but I sort of enjoyed them.
Only thing I would change is to thicken up the sauce a little. It's a little thin using blackberries. Might be just fine using blueberries.
