I saw this in the group a couple of months ago. I'm always willing to try new meatball recipes and this one was very good! The only changes I made was to double the garlic and salt. I used this recipe for the meatballs only, so I didn't add a photo!

Never been to Olive Garden so I can't compare or contrast the fare. This certainly is a minimalist approach to the pasta sauce. If this is classic spaghetti and meatballs then I have never had the classic style.

Mother says "simply good". I like the dish a lot too. I would think the pasta would be mundane because of the lack of sauce but it has good flavor with the butter and parmesan added. And the pasta does color up a little while eating the dish. It rings my dinner bell.

Sauce is very thick and clings to the meatballs. Have never used double condensed tomato paste. Couldn't find it. Even the young cute flatbelly cashier didn't know what it was. But truly she looked like a sauce pan had never graced her presence anyway or needed to. Put two cans of regular strength tomato paste in the mix to compensate.

I learned a new way to serve up pasta sauce and it's nothing to sneeze at.

I like the way the sauce sticks to the meatballs. I might try this in a sub sandwich with some melted cheese.
