Donnie's Italian Style Meatballs

We had these last night. They are simple to make, tasty, filling and baked rather than fried or stewed. I will definitely be making these again! I made my own sauce to go along with them, and with wholewheat spaghetti they made a feast for a king.

My brother-in-law first introduced me to baking meatballs. I'll never prepare them any other way. Baking parchment down, they are way less messy to clean up and the shape stays much more uniform. This is another great meatball mix. I love this as a make ahead when I hit a sale on ground meat.

I love baking them instead of frying! My in-laws disagree...they throw the meatballs into the sauce (or gravy, as they call it) raw! But then they let the sauce boil for over an hour! Go figure! lol! But they say that I'm not a real Italian because my relatives are from Sicily, so that makes me Sicilian..not Italian! Aren't they precious! lol!
