Creamed Cabbage From Pennsylvania Dutch Country by capebretonqt is very very good.

The only change I made was to use a generous tablespoon of bacon grease that I had leftover from lunch instead of the crisco. The cabbage is sweet, tart and tender. Very good. Easy too.
