How to make it

  • Place shredded cabbage in pot with a pinch of salt, shortening and enough of water to cover half way.
  • Cover and cook over medium-high heat until cabbage is soft.
  • Mix sugar, vinegar, flour, egg and water in small bowl.
  • Add to cabbage and cook until thick.
  • NOTE: the amount of sugar and vinegar can be adjusted to meet your individual tastes.
