In N Out Cheeseburger W Onion Rings
The boys at work were raving about In-n-Out burgers the other day. I've never had one. They were shocked. I searched the web looking for what the heck they were talking about and found a recipe on foodnetwork.com. Then I came here and found this one. It was like the one on the Food Network site except for the way the onions were cooked. I cooked mine as per Food Network's instructions. Food Network didn't say the vinegar was optional in the sauce but I left it out because I was going to use the leftovers for salad dressing. Also, my ground beef was 80/20.
This was hard to eat. Its just so big. I didn't use pickles as I don't like pickles on my burger. I also prefer raw onions. I couldn't eat all of it and by the time I got to the last of it, it was a soggy mess anyway. It was good but I won't make it again. Also, the title says "with Onion Rings." I didn't see any.
If you are curious, Food Network's recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/almost-famous-animal-style-burgers-recipe.html

Frankie, that is not what an In & Out burger is like, they truly are plain burgers. Just basic, but juice, and seasoned with salt and pepper. I think they only use ketchup on the burgers too. I don't even remember onions, no pickles. just a plain burger or cheese burger. the Pictures look Luscious!
Huge burger too. LOL In & Out burgers are not big at all.

    here is the menu.

Thanks you, ladies. It was huge. Too much for me.
Semi, it is my understanding, from talking to the guys I work with, that there is a supposed "secret" menu at In-n-Out that includes burgers "Animal Style" that have this sauce on them. Its not much of a secret as all the guys I work with always order from the "secret" menu and get the Animal burger, as they call it. You have to know what to ask for, so it seems, as they are not on the regular menu.

That is huge, but looks so delish, Michael would be all over that burger! We don't have In & Out Burgers here, so not sure if I'll ever get to try one.Sonic has a "secret" menu item that I like to indulge in every once in a while called Extreme Tots. If anyone has one near them, ask for them, so good!!!

Just looked it up and there are a few in San Antonio TX and we sometimes vacation there, so I'll have to make a memo to try it next time we go :)

The nearest In-n-Out Burger is 60 miles away from me. Every time I have been near it, it is packed!
Seems like lots of places have "secret" menus. I don't think Sonic is in California though.
