    No Bake Carob Oatmeal Bars

Bars have a good flavor for health bars but I couldn't chew up the oats. I'm thinking maybe instant oats would work better than quick cooking oats.

I'm all tapped out of butter so subbed oleo.
Only had 1/4 cup honey. Replaced the remainder 1/2 cup with half clear Karo syrup and half Nutella spread.

Finally, 32 servings is laughable, make it 16 servings.

    Did get a pic taken.

Aren't instant oats the same as quick oats, except instant oats have added sugar?

No. Quick oats cook up in 5 minutes. Instant oats need no cooking at all. It is ground finer to help fluid infuse into the oat. I don't know how long regular oats take to cook. I'm guessing 15 to 30 minutes.

I have a box of Quaker Oats and it cooks in 1 minute...but its not instant...it say 'quick'. Ingredients say... 100% Natural Whole Grain Quaker Quality Rolled Oats. Nothing else.

I think the problem might be that there isn't enough liquid in the recipe. These oats say to use 1 cup of water (or milk) for 1/2 cup of oats!

I might just have put the wrong oats in the recipe. My information could be suspect.
