  Peaches Berries And Dumplings
  
  Bastardized this recipe.
  Didn't want to go to the store for the berries.
  Used canned peaches so I added them in at last just to warm.
  Used the light syrup the peaches were canned in with makeup water plus sugar and all the spices.
  Added half teaspoon almond extract.
  Mother wanted the dumplings more chewy than drop dumplings. So I adjusted the buttermilk amount to make a kneadable dough, just like a biscuit recipe but a little over kneaded. Rolled out flat and cut to diamond shapes.
