made this tonight. Totally awesome. Everyone loved it. Although I had to make a few minor changes to use what I had on hand. I had red wine opened so I used that instead of the white, also I used spagetti instead of penne & used tomatoes from my garden which are not roma but still pretty close to the recipe. LOVED IT

Hi Laurie! This sounds great! Glad to hear that the red wine worked cause that's all we drink and I would hate to buy white wine just for this recipe and it not get drunk!

The wine cooks down so it just kind of gives it a hint of flavor. I am sure it would have tasted slightly different with the white, but like you say I didn't want to open a whole bottle that no one would drink for a 1/2 cup of wine.
