Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Recipe by Murphskitchen: Slow Cooker Beef Stew
Delicious stew. Mother remarked on it right away.
No instruction on what to do with the large onion and garlic. Since they were listed directly below the leeks, I included them in the saute.
This recipe filled my standard size crock pot all the way up. Suggestion: Either use a larger crock pot or use only a 4lb roast.
I'm not sure what the wrapping of the veggies in foil technique does. Liquid leaked into the foil pack as it bubbled up. I scrunched down the foil as directed. Maybe the foil pack should have been sealed, I don't know.
I had extra veggies left over. Simmered the extra veggies and peas in a separate pot.

Variations: No red potatoes, used russets. No wine, subbed beef broth.

Looks great. The garlic is in the mix bowl with the celery etc. Would imagine the onion is too. Will try!

Well, I looked, and looked, and didn't see the garlic. How about that!
If I had seen the garlic in the veggie mix, I too would have put the onion in there.
But my stomach is all stretched out and leftovers in the fridge, hiding from tomorrow.
