Whole Cherry Preserves

    This makes a wonderful hot syrup for pancakes and the like. Followed the recipe exactly, EXCEPT, I stirred in a quarter teaspoon almond extract at the end.

    The star of anise lends a nice licorice flavor.

    Did you make the full amount and did you jar it?

    I'm trying to think of what I could pour this on besides pancakes!

    No no. Didn't jar it. I fully intend to use what is left on another batch or two of pancakes. I'm doing soft food for a week or two so this full batch of preserves will be gone in no time.
