Whole chicken in a crockpot

I have to say this is my favorite recipe on Group Recipes. The money saving alone is enough to make me love it. I made the recipe and the first night we had sliced up some of the chicken and made some gravy out of the drippings over fresh bread. Because there is so much juice I made a huge gravy and chopped up more of the chicken and added veggies to make TWO chicken pot pies. Then I took the chicken body and whatever was left and made a nice chicken soup. I really loved this one...if you couldn't tell :)

That sounds like a great idea...using this recipe to make so many other things! Do you think it would okay to use a skinned chicken for this recipe?

...or maybe I should say a 'skinless' chicken!

I don't think you would have as much drippings but it should be plenty moist. You don't add any water but when it is cooked the crockpot is full of liquid. Let me know if you try it.

Thanks...I'll have to try that one!
