Whole Chicken In A Crockpot Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 large roasting chicken (with pop-up timer if possible)
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 tsp. of thyme
  • 1 tsp. of white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. of black pepper
  • 4 tsp. of salt
  • 2 tsp. of paprika
  • 1 tsp. of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. of onion powder

Directions
  1. First take asmall bowl and then combine the spices.
  2. Then remove any giblets from chicken and clean chicken.
  3. Next you want to rub spice mixture onto the chicken.
  4. Now place in resealable plastic bag and refrigerate overnight.
  5. When chicken in ready to cook, put chopped onion in bottom of crock pot.
  6. Then Add chicken.
  7. Note: no liquid is needed, the chicken will make it's own juices.
  8. You will want to $cook on low 4-8 hours.
  9. Note: The pop-up timer works wonderful in this recipe.

This was unbelievably amazing!! I have an old smaller crockpot and the chicken barely squeezed in there. What I got was juicy, moist chicken with lots of juices to make gravy.

Really easy, really juicy, really tasty. That's an awesome dry rub you've got there. I was pretty amazed to see exactly how many juices came out of this thing in the pot!

Sorry!!!! I made this tonight and I wanted to give it a 5. It was awesome. used the extra juice to make gravy, used the extra gravy to make chicken pot pie and used the rest to make soup. BUT I am so having problems with this site when I clicked on the forks it stuck on 2 and when I tried to move it to the five it tells me I already rated it a 2 which I DID NOT...


I tried this yesterday and it was so good. awesome job on this one. two thumbs up.I'll do this one again for sure.
