Every year for Christmas, my mom would do the '25 Days of Christmas'. There were four of us kids, and we didn't have a lot of money, so we didn't always get a 'prize', but what she would do is this: every day beginning December 1st, we woud get a little treat or do something fun each day. Sometimes we would get a special candy we liked, or maybe a tiny toy, but on the other days, we would do something fun like bake cookies, or visit someone. It was a lot of fun and we loved it. The hubs and I don't have kids yet, but we try to make the holidays special for each other. Our little tradition is to write a special message (even just an 'I love you') on each gift tag that we put on presents to each other. I love the holidays - for me, Halloween is the kick-off for me, and I am just nutso until New Years! Only 61 days left until Christmas!

That is cute... We always pick the tree out and cut it on our own on the weekend before my oldest daughters birthday. She always wants the tree up for her birthday, opposite of my husband who wants it down by his, Dec 28. My two girls and I decorate the tree and drink eggnog while my husband does the outside lights. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner are always held at my house. I said when I got my house I woudl never pull my children away from all the new stuff to go to someone elses house. Plus I love to host everyone.
