electric mixers

My electric mixer is over 20 years old and I'm afraid it is coming to end of it's life. What are recommendations for mixers? I'm looking for a counter-top mixer, not a small hand-held. Price is an issue.

Because the manufacturers know we love our stand mixers they are priced on the high side.
I have the largest Kitchen Aid Professional with the most wattage because I make a lot of bread and I like the larger capacity of the bowl.

The attachments are useless they will warble loose during the run while grating hard cheese. They are O.K. for grating carrots or other vegetables.

They stand by their products and I have shipped mine back for repair after that one incident were after grinding hard cheese it broke down.
It has been fine ever since.

Price was in issue for me, too. I wanted the Kitchen Aid, but, couldn't justify the $200-$300. (Even though I know they are well worth it). Bryan got me a Sunbeam at JC Penney's for Christmas 2 years ago, under $100, and I absolutely LOVE it. It is hands free, has 2 sizes of bowls, beaters and a bread dough mixer attachment. It works very well and is very user-friendly.

Thanks! This is all good to know. I use a little hand mixer for the small jobs but need something that can handle bread and cookie dough. If I need to grate things, I have a Cuisinart that works well.
