    My first thought is perhaps the eggs are too large or too small? Then I thought, perhaps try self-rising flour in place of the Presto or cake flour?

    The idea to add the 1/2 tsp of baking soda didn't work. My husband is eating the fallen cake, though. He will almost eat dog food, fortunately. LOL
