Flavourful Friday!

Good Morning Everyone! It's a gray, rainy day here in Ottawa! Jim and I were up at 6:30. Pre-trip excitement. :) Everything appears to be on track. I need to clean up the kitchen and make our egg salad sandwiches, feed the birds and squirrels and then head off.

Am including a pic (not a great one) of the Cheese selection I picked up as a Hostess gift. I'm very excited to try the Black Lemon Cheese and the Garlic Yarg for that matter. :)

Wishing everyone a Fantastic Friday! :) Next stop.....St. Catharines!

Have a great trip, Janet. Lol you are really going quite a bit out of your way south before heading north the Rainy River. Lol I would go crazy in a car for such a long time. I hope you and Jim's family enjoy the cheeses.

Hoping you and Wayne are feeling better today, Karen.

I am getting ready to go over to Emerg b/c I have a huge swollen gland under my right ear going down into my face and chin. It is very sore and I look like I have the mumps or something. It isn't the mumps been there done that and my throat isn't sore. I hope I don't have to wait a zillion hours to be seen and that I get some antibiotics or something for it. It is probably an infection of some sort.

    I better get moving.

    Have a Happy TGIF Everyone!

Have a wonderful drive, Janet! The cheese looks amazing. I love specialty type cheese, it makes for a wonderful hostess gift.

Oh no on the swollen gland, Joce. It does sound like an infection of some sort for sure. Strange it is only on one side. Hope you are seen quickly and get some relief.

Wayne seems to have improved somewhat -- he is moving better, still relies on a cane. He said when the chiropractor was working on him he felt something "give" or snap or ? and thinks maybe the nerve was freed or something. I am so tired, even after sleeping at least 8 hours through last night, went to be at 10:30 and woke up at 7:15!

Last night Mauser knocked an egg off the island. Fritz double timed it into the kitchen and ate it before either of us could get to him. This morning we now have an understanding what happens when a little dog with a compromised pancreas finds a raw egg. Suffice it to say that we couldn't wait until he was taken outside, and it was not a wonderful beginning to the morning.

Ron's buddy is coming over to do chores and we are fixing cinnamon rolls (just from a tube ... not up to anything else yet) to go with coffee.

    Have a nice day.

    Good Morning Everyone!

It's going to be a beautiful day here. Yesterday was great and we went to the outdoor mall, walked around, and had an early dinner at Ford's Garage (burgers). LD came with us and was as 'happy as a clam' to be outdoors in his stroller enjoying the fresh air and sights. I bought a pair of black capris and a top at the Izod/Van Heusen outlet.
    No clue about anything today.

Travel safe Janet. The cheeses do look very interesting and I can't wait to hear what they are like when you sample them. Hope the ant problem clears up. Putting bait out is the best thing to do. Spraying takes care of only what you see. That's great Jim got the deck repaired. Does Myrna live far from Benj? Congrats to Benj doing so well at the school that he got another raise.

Oh-No Joce. Sounds like it could be an abscess in your jaw?? I hope it's nothing serious and a round of something fixes it and that you don't have to wait long. Do let us know how you are feeling after.

That is good news to hear Wayne is starting to feel better Karen. Yikes on Fritz! I'm sure of how 'unpleasant' the consequences of stealing the egg was. Yum on cinnamon rolls. Nothing beats the smell of them baking.

Oh no on the egg and Fritz, Karen! I hope he is O.K. now. I hope Wayne continues to get better and you get over this period you are going through soon.

Nice to hear LD enjoyed his time out last night, Linda. Also nice to hear you scored some clothes.

I didn't have too wait too long. The Triage Nurse took me almost right away then the doctor saw me and it was the young doctor that also works at my normal doctor's office. Ends out I have what is called a Saliva stone stuck and believe it or not I am supposed to keep sucking on the sourest candy I can find. Luckily we have a new candy shop in town and they knew right away what I was looking for and why. Wild eh! Lol I am sucking on "Toxic Waste" Hazardously Sour Candy. It is even packaged in a small metal looking toxic waste can. It is rather cute. The doctor said to keep doing hot compresses and eating the candy along with massaging the area to loosen the stone. If it isn't gone it 5 or 6 days to come back.

Wow. That it an odd thing to have Joce but so thankful all it's going to take is a little candy to fix it, hopefully. Did they say how to prevent such a thing to begin with?

Oh dear Joce on your Saliva stone. I never heard of such a thing! Go figure!!!! I think it's awesome that a candy is part of the antidote. :) Not often you hear that!!!

Glad Wayne is feeling a little better Karen! Oh dear on Fritz. Nasty. Cinnamon rolls from a can and coffee sounds wonderful! :) Life's little pleasures!

Yum at burgers at Ford's Linda. There is an ant spray that is residual and as long as the ant walks over it at some point it poisons them. (Old Hardware store knowledge) :)

Myrna lives pretty close to Benjamin. I think about 20 min. on the High Speed rail system.

We enjoyed our picnic lunch in the car. Traffic was flipping stupid. We left the house at 9:30, ran one errand but then didn't get to St. Catharines 'til almost 5:30. Ugh. It was painful.

The grass is green here and Laura has crocuses coming up as well as perennials and buds on the trees!!! Ribs and salad for dinner. Sounds yummy.

Safe travels Janet. Is this a new girlfriend for Benjamin? I must have missed that post :)
Ugh on the raw egg. Joy even though she is a street dog breed can’t handle hot food, turkey or sugar. After the going away party her tummy was yucky. She fortunately didn’t go it the house but her stomach was making noises all day.
Becca is home for the weekend and requested salmon for dinner so we had that with green beans and mashed. Got my misfit box yesterday. Had two big things of kale in it. Yuck! I brought it to work and gave it to my coworker Matt. He cracked up when he saw it because we had a conversation yesterday and he said my wife makes me eat kale every day. He sent her a picture lol she was happy.
