Friday's Food

Good Morning Everyone! Today is house cleaning day for me. Top to bottom. I think I'm going to try a new recipe from the Vietnamese Street Food Cookbook Benjamin gave me for dinner tonight but have to go look at it one more time to make sure that the One-Ingredient Missing Fairy hasn't shown up.

If I get done that in time I may take a spin into town as I need to go to Costco and the Hardware store.

That's very fun Kimmer that a wren is building a nest in the Poinsettia. Good entertainment for Chloe for sure. :)

Our dinner turned out super well last night and I cooked the scallops to perfection if I must say so myself. :)

Wishing everyone a great day! Any plans for Mother's Day? Jim's going to take me out for Brunch and then we're going shopping at the Garden centers. It's been a tradition for quite a few years now to do that. :)

    Good Morning All!

The scallop recipe looks amazing Janet! Happy to hear Jim's birthday day was nice.
Top to bottom house cleaning sounds like a workout and an all day event. Oooo, a new recipe, what is it you have your eye on? No plans here for Mother's day. A trip to the garden center sounds ideal and hope you find some nice plants. My last trip I bought a "Bird Pepper" plant and it grows little hot peppers the birds love. I need to get some more dirt because I want to pot it and keep it out front.

Speaking of birds ... how adorable that the Wren is making her nest in your poinsettia plant Kimmer. They are such fun little birds to watch! We had a pair in NJ that always nested, every year, on our front porch. One year we actually got to see the babies leave the nest taking their first flight.

No plans here just yet for the day. Had a great night sleep because we all slept on the couch and slept for about 11 hours. LD cuddled the entire night and the bunny got to bounce around the entire time too so it was a "win-win" for all.

I want to try a new recipe for a minced pork skewer served in rice paper Linda. I hope I'm not biting off too much. House cleaning, town errands and a new recipe. :) Very fun on the "Bird Pepper" plant. :) Glad you got a good sleep last night.

Have fun at the Garden Center, Janet. It sounds like a fun thing to do. We have no plans for Mother’s Day.

Wayne’s buddy is working on the bathroom. He wants the walls squared for the shower to be installed. Once he has the measurements we can order the shower unit. Then five weeks until delivery.

Went to retrieve trash cans and found out they changed our day to Friday without letting us know. So they sat out until the following morning. Meanwhile a raccoon chewed a hole in the lid of the large container and pulled off the lid on a small one. Trash was everywhere....the guys had to pick it up and police the area. We put moth balls in one and bleach in the others so the brats would be deterred. It must have worked bec no cans were disturbed.

Otherwise no news. All is quiet and I hope it stays that way. Kitchen is waiting for clean up and dishwasher needs emptying.. See you later.

Yum on the new recipe Janet! I have my eye on a new salad from here. Bought all the ingredients and will either make it today or tomorrow.

Wow on the raccoon chewing a hole in the lid of your trash can Karen, I guess he was super hungry. Sounds like the bathroom reno is coming along just fine. What is your color theme?

Oh dear on the trash day schedule changing and you getting a hole in the lid of your trash can as a result Karen. :(

I've got to get busy and look for a salad recipe to make for this month's IMI challenge as well Linda.

Jim talked me out of going in to town until tomorrow morning. Our local Farmer's Market opens for the season tomorrow as well. SO happy! Also decided to push the Pork Skewers 'til tomorrow night and just clean up leftovers in the fridge as the fridge is SO full.
