Monday's Mitt

  • chuckieb 6 years ago
Good Morning Everyone! JIm left his car wash mitt out on the deck railing yesterday. When I got up this morning there was a little chickadee happily pulling out fibres from it to feather her nest. SO cute! Oh my goodness! Put pics on my FB page but will share a couple here as well for those who aren't on.

Heading for the treadmill in a few minutes for our workout. It's actually going to be sunny today and the next two days so I think I'll grab the opportunity and head out to do a bit of gardening. I have some mulch to put down and I think I'll arrange my fairy garden as well.

Going to BBQ burgers for dinner this evening. Might make some sort of couscous salad to go on the side. I think I have cucumber in the crisper.

Jim's going to bring the car over to our mechanic after breakfast. Here's hoping it's nothing major.

So you were in the market for living room furniture too Shona! :) Very fun! We bought a chaise lounge when Benjamin was a teen and he claimed it. It's down in our basement now as neither Jim nor I are big on it. I should really put it up on Kijiji. Your new things sound lovely. Yummers on Chinese food. Haven't had that in a while! Nice that Sophia got a new bed. Sounds like you got a lot done in your garden. I should go check if my rhubarb survived.

Your filet and scampi sounded deelish yesterday Karen! I love mimosas. Usually it's a mix of champagne and o.j.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Morning Janet!! So cute on the little bird, I bet it will have the softest nest in town :) Glad your getting few days of sunny weather finally, good luck on the treadmill. Yum on burgers!!

At the gym. I only had a chance to go one day last week and it's frustrating. Planning on getting here every day this week.

Gotta make a few stops on the way home then no plans after that. Have to take Bri up to the eye doctor after she gets out of school to once again get her glasses adjusted. I don't think the lady did anything last week when I took them in.

I'm thinking we will do some deer sausage for dinner that my Dad gave me a while back. Caiden's been requesting it lol :) probably serve with some green beans and some sort of potatoes. Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning, Janet. The mimosa was good. I couldn't identify the type of alcohol but it was quite good. I am not a chaise lounge person either. Good luck selling it. We need to sell a couple of large desks (nice ones) and a few other things.

SP Michelle. Boo on the second trip to adjust glasses.

We have GS to take swimming - Wayne will go to the fire dept board meeting and I will pick him up and run to Rolla. Tomorrow he will run to Rolla and I will be here waiting for the Schwann man! Wednesday we both have to go in, and he has an orthodontist appt. beforehand. He could miss today's swim but with a meet this weekend, we felt it was important to have swim practice.

Best go get a shower and start the morning! Laundry is still here waiting.

SO annoying when one's glasses don't sit properly! Good luck at the Eye Dr. for Bri Michelle. Venison sausages sound great.

That's lots of running around Karen. Good luck to your GS at the swim meet this weekend.

Adorable bird taking threads from Jim's car washing mitt, Janet. I hope the car can be fixed for a small price. Good luck with your gardening and BBQ-ed hamburgers are the best! GO SENS GO!

Happy belated Mother’s Day to you as well, Michelle. Glad you are able to get to the gym today. I hope Bri gets her glasses fixed for good today. I have never had deer sausages but I have heard from others that they are very good. I hope you can have a bit of a relaxing day for a change after your busy weekend.

Your dinner yesterday sounded just lovely, Karen! You sound like you have a busy day ahead of you as well.

I have a Hearing Aid appointment this afternoon. Just a check up then I need to pick up prescriptions and a few other things at the drug store and after that a little shop at Foodsmith’s. We are having chicken something for dinner tonight.I must say it is really nice to see the sun!

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Sp Karen! Have fun at your GS's swim practice!

Deer sausage is delicious Joce, the best kind is one's you will find from a local meat market or a Farmer's Market. I've seen it at the grocery store before, but I stay away from that lol. Enjoy your errands today!

It's so beautiful outside today. 83 degrees with a nice breeze. I want to get out into the garden, but I think I will wait until tomorrow. I just picked some beautiful bright yellow (Lemon Boy) tomatoes from the garden. Can't wait to use them for something :)

So I went over to the garage with Jim. Indeed some big part needs to be changed that has to do with the power steering fluid. So it's booked it for Wed. It'll be about $700. I HATE car bills. :( Proceeded on from the garage to Costco and got my petunias. A 24 pk. for $10.99. They're beautiful and I bought two. Also bought a pk. of 4 sweet potato vines for $9.99. Got some groceries as well.

Dropped off a birthday present to a girlfriend and picked up some beverages to go with tonight Sens Game. :) GO SENS GO!

Good luck with your Hearing Aid appointment Joce. We want to try get Jim's Dad in to see his Ear Dr. this summer as one day he's fine and the next day he's stone deaf. I've mentioned before I'm sure that he has had hearing aids since he was a kid. Have fun at Foodsmith's!

ENVYING you your yellow tomatoes Michelle. So nice!

Good afternoon and hello to all. That is so cute about the bird and Jim's mitt. Hope all had a nice and relaxing Mother's Day yesterday. I, too, had intended on popping in but didn't have a chance.

Even though it is a very warm 88F here, call me crazy, but I am craving soup! Hubs looked at me like I had 3 heads when I said I was going to cook up a pot of veggie soup. We generally only have homemade soup in the winter time here even though our temps don't get to low. It's just a winter thing I guess. But then he thought about it and said, ya know that actually does sound good, lol. We had such a large and heavy meal last night just wanted some comfort soup tonight. Don't have any beef I can cube up for it so gonna use ground beef. Lol, had to laugh, I saw a recipe for "Hamburger Soup" somewhere, maybe on FB and I thought to myself, I've been doing that for years! Especially back in the financially "slimmer" times when I had 4 hungry kids to feed and it was much cheaper to buy ground beef. Will pop a can of bisquits to have with. Would rather have a nice, crusty bakery bread but don't have and not going to the store!

Enjoy the rest of the day all.

Hi Kimmer! I could eat soup every day of the year! Yours sounds wonderful and the biscuits will be perfect with it.

It's been a gorgeous day here. I was hoping to get outside and spread some mulch or mow some of the lawn but I'm too stiff and tired from the treadmill this morning to rouse up the energy. I did put out some fairy furniture in the garden at the side of the house and I cleaned up a bunch of sunflower seed shells from under the feeder.

Would really like not to buy any ready made salad dressings this year. Wanted a Greek one to use with my couscous salad. Found a recipe online but at first taste it's VERY puckery and very thin. Anyone got any tips or recipes? I'll want one for an Italian dressing as well.

Just a quick hello. Cute pic's Janet. Sorry about your car trouble. My check engine light popped on today so I will take it in tomorrow. Check out Greek on Wheels the next time that your in the city. They make their own and sell it, it's our favourite salad dressing.

I've never had deer sausage, Michelle, but I've had wild boar and they were quite good.

Good luck on your appointment tomorrow, Joce.

I could eat soup everyday, Kimmer.

I spent a good part of the aft pulling Virginia Creeper off the fence, the silly neighbour planted it and it's invading my garden. The pond is draining so I'll deal with cleaning it tomorrow. Dinner was grilled pork tenderloin and asparagus. I grated lemon zest over the asparagus and it was amazing.

    Go Sens Go

Thanks for the tip on the Greek on Wheels salad dressing Bren. I was on a mission this summer to make allll my own dressings and not buy any. That being said, if they suck, I will stop my mission. Oh dear on the neighbour's plants invading your garden. Yum on your dinner. Sounded delicious!

Thank you Linda. I pinned both of them. In the past I haven't had the best luck buying sundried tomatoes. I don't really know what I'm doing. But I love that flavour profile and used to love a Kraft Sundried Tomato dressing. We use Greek dressing a lot in the summer and Italian as well. Jim likes sesame dressing. Hope things are going okay on your end.

I'll catch everyone up soon . It's been a lot and overwhelming with all that has happened and still needs to happen. I'm still somewhat in shock and just starting to catch my breath. DH really needs to be in a professional place for hard to handle people and hopefully the court/judge will agree on Friday.
All I know is he can not be home.

I love homemade dressing. I can't remember the last time I bought bottled, it just doesn't do it for me.
